Root Canals

If you had a tooth with a diseased nerve there is a special dental procedure called a root canal therapy that may save that tooth. The "root canal" refers to the natural cavity in the middle of a tooth. The pulp or pulp chamber is the soft area within the root canal. The tooth's nerve is located within the root canal. Tooth decay, repeated dental procedures, large fillings, cracks, chips and trauma to the face can cause a tooth's nerve and pulp to become irritated, inflamed or infected. If left untreated, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

A root canal procedure is a dental procedure used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. The procedure involves removing the nerve and the pulp from the center of the tooth and then cleaning and sealing it. Our dentist places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger.

The dentists at Lawrenceville Dental Associates are highly trained in and have extensive experience with root canal procedures. Together with our friendly and professional staff, they successfully provide root canal procedures for patients with decayed or infected teeth.

Our Happy Patients

"Quality and compassionate care along with a great staff.....makes me a very happy patient!! Even my children (6 &14) look forward to their visit! That for me, speaks volumes!!!"

Stacie Stacie

"I had my teeth cleaned today and, as usual, Karyn was fast and efficient, and just plain great! Plus, she is a great gal to talk to during the process. She makes having my teeth cleaned an event I actually look forward to. Best hygienist I have ever used. My entire family followed her from her previous dental home and would recommend her to anyone! Might as well use the best even though the drive is longer."

Lynne Lynne

"Went in for a busted filling and wound up getting a cap. Staff clearly explained X-ray, bone loss, etc without being patronizing. Virtually painless process; liberal use of numbing salve for deep cleaning, doc was careful with injection of novacain. Did have to wait because I was a work-in, but staff checked in frequently, had a big screen TV in the room, pleasant experience. "
